According to OSHA standard 1926.1400, crane operators are required to obtain certification that ensures they are properly trained and competent to operate safely. To satisfy this requirement, they must be tested by an accredited facility. The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) are two organizations thus accredited.
Our Mobile Crane Certification Prep Course covers a wide range of general information meant to help you prepare for testing for your certification through NCCCO or NCCER. Please note, in order for your certification to be complete, you will also need a safety training.
The goal of this course is to review the principles of stability as they apply to cranes; discuss load charts, how to read them, and give you some exercises to complete to ensure you fully understand how to properly utilize them; review rigging equipment and safe rigging principles; and discuss work habits that can keep you safe on the work site.
A quarter of these fatalities occurred on a construction site. (Source: BLS).
