Description
I love old movies. This poster was inspired by the 1959 Jimmy Stewart classic, Anatomy of a Murder. It's title alludes to the plot: a story in which attorneys try to understand and prove the steps that led up to a grisly murder. It seemed only fitting that we use this design to tell a similar story through our poster, "The Anatomy of PPE". Because if you don't take the time to understand, inspect and wear the proper PPE as required by the OSHA standard, it is murder. Lives are lost or workers injured every week because they fail to wear what was made to protect them. It is in the name: personal protective equipment (PPE). So wear it and by it be protected.
According to OSHA: Protective equipment, including personal protective equipment for eyes, face, head, and extremities, protective clothing, respiratory devices, and protective shields and barriers, shall be provided, used, and maintained in a sanitary and reliable condition wherever it is necessary by reason of hazards of processes or environment, chemical hazards, radiological hazards, or mechanical irritants encountered in a manner capable of causing injury or impairment in the function of any part of the body through absorption, inhalation or physical contact.
- OSHA PPE Standard: 29 CFR 1910.132, 29 CFR 1926.28 and subpart E (1926.95-1926.107), PPE for general industry, construction
- Canada PPE Standard: CAN/CSA-Z617-06, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for Blunt Trauma
