What do we offer? Whether you want HAZWOPER 24 certification in as little as two hours with our online training or a more robust, customizable option like you get with our DIY training kits or on-site training, we can help you get the HAZWOPER 24 training you want in the way you want it and at a price you can afford.

What are my options for HAZWOPER 24 training?

Training Kits

The kit is for those who want to do the training themselves. It's a reusable training presentation that is used to train groups of people all at one time in one location. If you need to train a trainer to use the kit we offer a train the trainer online course.

Online Training

Online is for those who prefer self-paced training from any location or for employers who need to assign and monitor employee training progress and exam scores. Online training is also eligible for bulk pricing discounts for groups of 16+ trainees.

Train the Trainer

Train the trainer courses are online and meant to certify a single individual to use the training kit to train others. The kit is included with the train the trainer online course for no additional cost and is reusable. Results in a lifetime certification.

Onsite Training

Onsite training is for companies looking for hands-on training on your own equipment at your location. We come to you (from Rexburg, Idaho) so travel expenses are included, because of this onsite training is best for groups of at least 5-10+ trainees.

What's in the HAZWOPER 24 Training Course?

Our HAZWOPER course meets the initial 24-hour safety training requirement. This training includes the 2013 updates of the Globally Harmonized System (GHS) for Hazard Communication, as well as information on hazard recognition; site characterization and monitoring; confined space work; site testing; medical surveillance; toxicology; material handling; excavation; safe work practices; PPE; decontamination; and emergency procedures.

This presentation includes intermittent practice quiz questions to prepare for the final written exam included with the course. In addition to the written exam, this course also includes checklists for employers to use when administering practical exams as required by OSHA.
Though you will still need to familiarize yourself with all other applicable federal, state, and local standards, this training encompasses the following OSHA standards reduction:

  • Encompasses these U.S. Standards
  • 29 CFR 1910.120

  • GHS Hazard Communication Standards

Why do I need HAZWOPER 24 training?

In accordance with OSHA’s HAZWOPER standard, employees who may be exposed to hazardous substances or situations must obtain training. These employees maybe be engaged in operations including clean-up, treatment, storage, and disposal of hazardous waste are required to take the initial HAZWOPER training which consists of a 24 or 40-hour course. Depending on your job type and experience, you may be able to take the 24-hour course to meet your HAZWOPER training requirement.

When it comes to refresher training for HAZWOPER, OSHA’s standard is very specific: workers must be re-evaluated every year to ensure they are still competent to work safely around hazardous materials. The extent of the evaluation is to be determined by the employer but should include a written and practical examination that prove continued competency.

  • OSHA has offered the following guidelines to clarify what they consider to be a hazardous substance or situation:
    • High concentrations of toxic substances;
    • Situation that is life or injury threatening;
    • Imminent Danger to Life and Health (IDLH) environments;
    • Situation that presents an oxygen deficient atmosphere;
    • Condition that poses a fire or explosion hazard;
    • Situation that required an evacuation of the area;
    • A situation that requires immediate attention because of the danger posed to employees in the area.
