Description
Bucket Truck Poster: Whether you are using a bucket truck (a vehicle mounted aerial device) to trim trees, change signs, or work around power lines, power line contact is an ever-present hazard. The idea for this poster came from the oft-used term “bucket list,” by which people mean a list of things they want to accomplish before they die. In this case, we thought the play on that word along with the name for the aerial lift worked well to drive home the necessity of safe operations around power lines. We all have bucket lists of one kind or another, but electrocution is not on that list; and certainly, no one expects to die tomorrow. Yet, tomorrow someone’s life will be in danger while operating a bucket truck near power lines. We hope this bucket truck poster will be a stark reminder to stay clear or de-energize power lines before operating near or on them.
Did you know? A vehicle mounted aerial lift may not be moved when the boom is elevated in a working position with men in the basket, except for equipment which is specifically designed for this type of operation. This may seem like common sense but quite often we see elevated aerial lift operators being driven down the line while still in the bucket in an effort to save time. Always take the time to lower operators before re-positioning the truck.
