Master the skills to identify, prevent, and manage common safety hazards on construction sites with our 10-hour OSHA Outreach Training for the Construction Industry. This course provides 10 hours of in-depth material on key standards from 29 CFR 1926.
The Outreach Training Program, authorized by OSHA and the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL), is designed to foster a safer and healthier work environment. Upon successful completion of this training, you will earn an official OSHA 10 DOL card. While participation in this program is voluntary, it may be required by certain employers, unions, states, or other jurisdictions.
This course is offered by 360training, an OSHA-authorized Outreach Training Provider. Hard Hat Training is a 360training company.
OSHA 10 Legal Information
OSHA Aligned. I-CAB Recognized. Because OSHA 10 is only required in the following states (CT, MA, MO, NY, NV, RI, WV), we have created an OSHA 10 equivalent course for employees working in construction in the remaining 43 states. Even in those 43 states, it is ultimately up to the employer to decide whether they require the official OSHA 10 or if an equivalent version will do. This OSHA 10 Equivalent course is OSHA Aligned in the areas that do not require the official course and is designed to familiarize workers with OSHA Requirements as well as safety and health hazards common to the workplace. A paper wallet card is made available immediately upon successful completion. Plastic wallet cards can also be mailed for an additional nominal fee.
What’s in the OSHA 10 Course?
Our OSHA 10-Hour: Construction Industry training course is regulation aligned, and our online version fulfills classroom training requirements. Each class covers 6 hours of the mandatory topics required by OSHA, including an introduction to OSHA; the Focus Four Hazards including falling, electrocution, struck-by, and caught-in between hazards; personal protective equipment; and ergonomic health hazards.
This course also addresses 2 hours of the following elective topics: hand and power tools, excavations, and cranes. It also covers heavy machinery, scaffolding, lockout/tagout, and ladders and stairways for the final 2 hours of optional training topics.
Estimated Training Length: Because everyone learns and progresses at different speeds, the amount of time you spend taking this training will vary. However, the estimated time for this training is 10 hours.

What Is an OSHA DOL Card?
The OSHA DOL Card is a plastic, wallet-sized card issued upon successful completion of an OSHA Outreach program. It serves as evidence of your participation in OSHA’s training programs, such as the OSHA 10-Hour Construction course and the OSHA 30-Hour Construction course. The card is also referred to as an OSHA Card or Completion Card.
What Are the OSHA Outreach Program Courses?
The OSHA Outreach Training Program is designed to improve safety and health in the workplace and is considered a primary method for training workers on basic occupational safety and health principles.
What Topics Are Covered in the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course & Who Should Enroll?
The OSHA 10-Hour Construction Safety course is designed for construction workers, supervisors, and others involved in the construction field.

What Is an OSHA 10 Certification?
While OSHA itself does not issue certifications, the closest equivalent is the OSHA Outreach training. Instead of a formal certification, OSHA mandates that employers ensure their workers are trained in safety and health aspects specific to their roles. Completing the OSHA Outreach program and passing the exam will result in receiving an official Department of Labor OSHA card.
How Long Will This Course Take to Complete?
This course will take a minimum of 10 hours to complete. Keep in mind that the stated 10-hour duration for this online OSHA course does not account for time spent on quizzes or the final exam. Therefore, you should anticipate spending more than 10 hours in total to complete the course.
How Does the Online OSHA Training Process Work?
Our OSHA online training courses offer the flexibility to complete them from the comfort of your home. They are designed to be self-paced, allowing you to finish the course at your convenience within one year from the date of purchase.
What Are the Guidelines for OSHA Online Training?
For those enrolled in OSHA Online Outreach training, the following rules apply:
- You must engage with the course content for a minimum of 600 minutes, which equates to 10 hours.
- The maximum time you can spend on the course each day is 7 hours and 30 minutes.
- You are required to fill out a course evaluation survey once you complete the training.
- You need to pass all the OSHA tests and the final exam with at least a 70% score, and you have up to three attempts to do so.
- The training should only be accessed from within U.S. jurisdiction.
How Long Do I Have To Finish the OSHA Training?
After enrolling in an online course, you have 12 months of access. However, OSHA regulations require that you complete the OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course, including the survey, within 6 months of your initial course launch.
If you do not pass all attempts at quizzes or the final exam, you will lose access to the course.
