OSHA 30 Legal Information
OSHA Aligned. I-CAB Recognized. Because OSHA 30 is only required in the following states (CT, MA, MO, NY, NV, RI, WV), we have created an OSHA 30 equivalent course for employees working in construction in the remaining 43 states. Even in those 43 states, it is ultimately up to the employer to decide whether they require the official OSHA 30 or if an equivalent version will do. This OSHA 30 Equivalent course is OSHA Aligned in the areas that do not require the official course and is designed to familiarize workers with OSHA Requirements as well as safety and health hazards common to the workplace. A paper wallet card is made available immediately upon successful completion. Plastic wallet cards can also be mailed for an additional nominal fee.

What Is an OSHA DOL Card?
The OSHA DOL Card is a plastic, wallet-sized card issued upon successful completion of an OSHA Outreach program. It serves as evidence of your participation in OSHA’s training programs, such as the OSHA Outreach 10-Hour Construction course and the OSHA Outreach 30-Hour Construction course. The card is also referred to as an OSHA Card or Completion Card.
What Are the OSHA Outreach Program Courses?
The OSHA Outreach Training Program is designed to improve safety and health in the workplace and is considered a primary method for training workers on basic occupational safety and health principles.
What Is an OSHA 30 Certification?
While OSHA itself does not issue certifications, the closest equivalent is the OSHA Outreach training. Instead of a formal certification, OSHA mandates that employers ensure their workers are trained in safety and health aspects specific to their roles. Completing the OSHA Outreach program and passing the exam will result in receiving an official Department of Labor OSHA card.
Does OSHA 30 Certification Expire?
The DOL card does not have an expiration date. However, because OSHA regulations can change frequently, it is advisable to refresh your training every 3 to 4 years.
In addition, specific states or employers may have their own renewal policies. For instance, New York and Nevada mandate that you retake the course every five years.
Be sure to consult with your employer or state authorities for any additional renewal requirements.
How Long Will This Course Take to Complete?
This course will take a minimum of 30 hours to complete. Keep in mind that the stated 30-hour duration for this online OSHA course does not account for time spent on quizzes or the final exam. Therefore, you should anticipate spending more than 30 hours in total to complete the course.
